About Climatoid

Climatoid is a research and data platform dedicated to investigating climate events, disaster responses, and environmental policy through spatial analysis and data visualisation. Each investigation combines satellite imagery, open data, and ground-level reporting to produce accessible, evidence-based narratives about the climate crisis.

The goal is not just documentation, it is accountability. By making complex environmental data legible and interactive, Climatoid aims to bridge the gap between raw datasets and public understanding.

Methodology

Satellite & Remote Sensing

Investigations use multi-spectral imagery from Sentinel-2, Landsat, and MODIS sensors to detect land use changes, thermal anomalies, and vegetation loss over time.

Geospatial Analysis

Data is processed using GIS tools and visualised through custom-built interactive map platforms, making spatial patterns accessible to non-technical audiences.

Open Data Integration

All analyses draw on publicly available datasets from government agencies, research institutions, and international monitoring bodies ensuring transparency and reproducibility.

Policy Review

Government initiatives and disaster responses are evaluated against stated goals, timelines, and budgets using official documents, press releases, and field observations.
